Halloween

A day worth of writing a post (or a day of slacking off?=P).
Last Friday we have randomly decided to celebrate Halloween. At first I thought it would just be a normal dinner gathering, with the main course of PUMPKINS eg pumpkin rice, pumpkin soup and etc.
Well, it turned out to be a feast for us.=D. With the enthusiasm of Qian Hui who searched for the online Halloween recipes, we became more engrossed in setting up the menus and getting all the ingredients. (We need in total of 20 plus ingredients just for a dinner!)
Tada~Here’s our “ambitious” menu. =)
1.     1.  Fruit salad
2.     2.Mini pizza with mushroom, hotdog and cheese topping. (It was tasty~)
3.     3.Pumpkin Rice with Octopus deco
4.     4.Pumpkin Soup
5.    5.Fried Eggs
6.    6.Grilled chicken with cheese topping
7.    7.Little Monsters (mini hotdogs with cheese)
.      8.Baked Potatoes
9.    9.Little Ghosts (toasted bread with whipped cream on top)
10  10.Gigantic Mouth (apple with almonds used as teeth, look at the picture below =P)
11  11.Orange Jelly with pieces of pineapples in it (This is so cute~)
12  12.   The last but not least- the not edible PUMPKIN!=P.
Gosh, now only I realized we have eaten so many CHEESE..>.<…need to do extra exercise after this.

It turned out not bad after all. Some of the foods were amazing for us. A minor problem was we were too enjoyable in cooking all the food till we could not finish all. It was really A LOT.XD.11 dishes for 6 persons! In the end some of them need to take some home as tomorrow’s breakfast or lunch.=P

I never celebrate Halloween before in Malaysia. It’s our 1st year in oversea and final year of our uni’s life. That was the reason we made the effort to prepare for this. Basically I’ve spent whole day to prepare for this dinner. We have started to work in the kitchen since afternoon and only get our dinner serve at 7pm.XD. But the outcomes were satisfying. It’s a day worth of remembering.
Kinda exhausted now as 3 of us did the cleaning of kitchen after the feast and it was really tiring. The stove was the hardest part to clean off and fridge turned out to be the second hardest.  I better skip this boring part.

We bought some Halloween stuffs for fun today. A packet of fake moustaches, 3 hats and a little pumpkin light.=). Here are some of the photos for today.

From today onwards, the time zone difference between UK and Malaysia will be 8 hours. I must get use to this, haven’t reset my time of watch yet. So today we’ve earn extra 1 hour in UK. (25 hours per day? I can’t sense the difference.)

Going to bed soon. Good night peeps. Good morning Malaysia. Thanks everyone who have contributed for the great dinner just now.=).

p/s: Sorry Serene, I don't have your picture in my camera.>.<

Sum Up

Abandon my blog again.>.<

Months passed and it’s been 2months since my last post. Things happened and I didn’t get to write up for all. Accumulated lots till the laziness had eaten me up to detail out one by one.

Well, may be I’ll just post some photos with elaborations for some events happened in THIS month. (can’t afford to cover my past summer vacation >.<)

1st happening event in October for me, my dear housemate, Qian Hui a.k.a mushroom’s BIRTHDAY.=). She is my dear friend whom I knew since pre-U.  A friend who was there for my ups and downs and has participated in most of my important events.  Oh ya, it was also my 1st time of baking cupcakes! The outcome wasn't that nice though but I really appreciate those friends who have helped me. Thanks to Msr-Jie and Fui Wei. I did feel a sense of satisfaction when the freshly baked cupcakes were just out from oven.^^.Happy Belated Birthday once again.=)
Tada~~Looks ok but taste....needs to be improved.=P

The birthday girl. We did surprise you right?=)

Whole bunch of friends who came over for the celebration. Thanks everyone for coming.=)

2nd event- The pharmacy pub crawl. Well, this is new to me. The theme for this year was “Geek Chic”. Actually I did not plan to dress up like one but with the help of my friend’s magic hand, she turned me into a different me. See from the picture below and you’ll know. Thanks a lot Serene. You made that day a memorable one for me.<3 . 7 stations in total with 6 pubs and club as our final stop. I had some drinks in between.  It was quite a new experience for me.
A totally different look =)

Everyone dressed up like Geek-from left-Chiew Vien,May Hwa, Lee Jing,Kai Chi,Ying Sin, Me and Kai Xin

So surprise that the lecturer can be so sporting!

The student has actually Kissed the lecturer.omg.

With a pretty beside me- Weei Foong

3rd event- Venture outside the comfort zone. Today we randomly decided to go IKEA which is located at Braehead. I’ve been planning to go there to get some bake ware (yes, finally I’ve decided to start it ). We took the bus from Buchanan Station and the journey wasn’t that long. (around 15 minutes). The weather was nice with some sunshine at the beginning of the day, this was the reason we went out as it’s RARE to have sunny days in Glasgow nowadays. However (there’s always a however..>.<), the weather turned into windy and even drizzling later on. It was COLD~ and yet we had ice-cream!=P. This is a new, fun, and also torturing experience for me. Imagine walking one hand with ice-cream and another with umbrella while your hands are freezing. We went for shopping after that and all of us bought something. (our purse is shouting:I’m getting slimmer!)XD. By the way, people here pronoun IKEA as “I-KEA”, not like the familiar “e-KEA” which we used to pronoun.  But how come all the advertisements in Malaysia called it as “e-KEA”? =P

The 35p ice-cream, was enjoying at first, till we stepped out from the building and freeze by the weather XD

Waiting at the bus stand (heading back to home)

Woah...a long post for this time.Till here then.=)

Semester 6!

It was hectic, it was stressful, it was speeding like train, and yet I’ve past my semester 6 here in 2 months plus time!

This semester was kinda awful to me, even though we have been told by the seniors that the timetable would be hectic and syllabus would be difficult but still when I’m here with all these expected stuffs, I panicked. Especially for one particular subject call Pharmacy Practice. Even now I’m not confident that I can pass my degree exam.=S

We used to have study break before end of semester exam in IMU, and then we would sit for the papers consecutively. Here the system is slightly different that we don’t have study break but there were gaps in between papers. Not much difference for me though as my sleeping hours per day in between gaps was the same as though as I’m having the next paper on the next day. (Symptoms of stressed up >.<). A cup of coffee everyday is a routine for me. (One cup is considered as normal right?XD) I feel like I need to work much harder to catch up the syllabus and those hard-to-digest theories. I need to always remind myself to be motivated; asking those hardworking groups of friends can always push me to be more self-disciplined.

Thinking what else to write, my brain is stagnant now. Well, I’m currently having holiday, holiday here is different from semester break in Malaysia where I can just spend whole day at home slacking around or go out for movies (movies here is kinda expensive >.<) or friend’s meeting up. Here I need to think of how to settle my meals everyday. (Missing mum’s cooking~~>.<). Sometimes it is tiring to spend quite long time to cook but I manage to enjoy some fun from it. I did try to cook something which I haven’t cook before like Fried Squid, Mushroom chicken and Sweet Potatoes dessert. I’m not a good cook though. The outcomes were satisfying (at least for me =P).  Here are the pictures. =)

A dead rabbit in the fish market
Haven't seen seafood in 2months time and finally =P
Our 1st attempt to fry squid, I got "attacked" by the oil for many times. But the effort is worthy.=)

Thanks to my neighbour – Serene, we get to eat homemade Chicken Rice, you’re really a good cook. I have to thank you for guiding and helping me to cook the dessert as well. =P.

Brinjal with chicken and some spices.Tasty~

It seems a bit raw but still the taste is nice =)

In about 1 week’s time, I will start my vacation to Paris and Italy!!Hopefully things will go well for each transit and flight. Sometimes we need be prepared for unexpected incidents. I think mind-set is important, if one is expecting to have fun without considering practical issues like transport troubles or hostel’s issues, surely he/she will feel that the vacation is tiring and disappointing. Just hope that we will enjoy our stay in these countries. Haven’t start packing my luggage though. XD

Here it ends for my post. Happy Raya Holiday for those in Malaysia and Happy Summer Holiday for the rest!

P/s: pray hard that I could pass all the subjects in my degree exam =/
